(NewsNation) — Protesters interrupted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s Senate testimony on Capitol Hill Tuesday.

Yelling was heard in the background as Hegseth was starting to answer Maine Sen. Susan Collins’ question. The protester was subsequently removed from the hearing chamber.

“I know that individuals feel very passionately, but we must have order in the hearing room so that we can proceed,” Collins said. She then continued with the hearing and let Hegseth finish his answer.

Hegseth was on Capitol Hill to argue for the Trump administration’s request for roughly $87 billion to fund the expanding conflict with Iran.
