That prowess continues as Texas rolls out the welcome mat to some of the most sought-after places to rent in within the United States.
That's according to a new study from WalletHub released last week that analyzed more than 180 rental markets in America across nearly two dozen various factors, including rental affordability, cost of living, job availability and rate differences between rents and monthly mortgage payments. Just one Texas city climbed into the Top 10, with two additional ones eeking their way into the Top 15 - including one very familiar Central Texas favorite.
Austin nabbed the No. 13 rank among the best cities for renters in America, with specific praise for its quality of life offerings and rental market affordability. That status comes as both home prices and rents dip in the Texas capital after a COVID-19 pandemic-era boom that saw skyrocketing costs and limited inventory.
The only Texas cities to best the Live Music Capital of the World? Those titles belonged to Amarillo and Plano, inching just ahead to lay claim to the No. 10 and No. 12 spots, respectively. Amarillo's rental market affordability garnered a No. 20 rank, while it was Plano's quality of life that specifically caught the eyes of WalletHub analysts, resulting in a No. 7 individual ranking for its lifestyle opportunities.
Not to be forgotten by its Panhandle, Central and North Texas counterparts, El Paso snuck its way into the Top 25, amping up Lone Star representation courtesy a No. 24 slot.
