The best things come in two’s. Just last week, Anne Hathaway stepped out in a really cool off-duty look as part of The Odyssey press tour, styling the pull-on pants trend with mesh ballet flats. And yesterday, Hathaway re-imagined the pairing, wearing the same style: Colby Pants from La Ligne (this time, in the satin version) which she paired with Vivaia’s comfy Emilie heels, instead of fishnet flats.
Every press tour look from Hathaway has been stellar (thank you, Erin Walsh), but the two featuring the comfy, yet elevated pull-on pants are by far my favorite. It’s such a real outfit you’d see a casual New Yorker (or any stylish person, for that matter) wearing, and the relatability is what makes it so cool. It’s proof that the best style moments aren’t always the most extra or require uber-expensive designer pieces.
You can easily re-create the look at home by grabbing her exact pants and styling them with a pair of strappy heeled sandals (or flats). I’ve been wearing a similar version of her outfit all summer long and have been loving the easy, yet elevated formula. The La Ligne pants, while I imagine are so worth it, are a bit pricey, so I found some similar styles, starting at just $25. Shop her satin pants and cool heels, below.
La Ligne Colby Pants
The true mark of loving something is if you own it in two (or more!) colors. Hathaway’s penchant for this silhouette that features a comfy elastic waistband and flowy, straight-leg style tells me they’re worth every penny. The ivory color looks so pretty for summer and better yet, they’re double-lined so you don’t need to worry about pesky underwear lines. She also loves the breathable cotton style, too.
Quince 100% Silk Drawstring Wide-Leg Pants
Erin Walsh is an ambassador for Quince so I have a feeling she’d approved of this under-$100 alternative. These are machine washable, so you can wear them on repeat for the rest of summer (and beyond) without racking up major dry cleaning fees.
J.Crew Cosmo Pants
J.Crew has been making some really great pants lately, and these are one of them. I’d opt for these if you want a similar look to the Colby Pants, but have a budget of under $200.
Leset Barb Wide-Leg Satin Pants
The roomy waistband and fit of Leset’s styles (like its always sold-out Kyoto Pants) are why they’ve become a fashion person’s worst-kept secret. These have a 29-inch inseam, so they’d be great for petite frames under 5-foot-5 or they’d fit as a cute cropped fit.
H&M Flared Satin Trousers
For $25, you can’t beat the price. As the name suggests, these have a slightly flared hemline that creates such a pretty relaxed look. I’d style these with flip-flops and an oversized T-shirt.
