On the 22nd, China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) released its list of new foreign game licenses for July 2026. The list includes a mobile game based on NC's flagship IP, 'Aion.'
According to the approval list published on the NPPA's official website, the game listed at number four is 'Yongheng Zhita: Jingdian' (永恒之塔:经典). This translates to 'Aion: Classic,' which was confirmed during the Q3 2025 earnings call as the mobile version of Aion currently being co-developed with Shengqu Games. At the time, CFO Hong Won-jun stated that the game was being developed with a target launch in China for 2026.
Additionally, item number three on the list is identified as 'Ragnarok M: Eternal Love 2' (仙境传说:守护永恒的爱2), a sequel to the mobile MMORPG 'Ragnarok M: Eternal Love' (Chinese title: 仙境传说:守护永恒的爱), which is based on Gravity's Ragnarok IP. 'Ragnarok M: Eternal Love 2' will be released for both PC and mobile, with XD handling the publishing in China, just as it did for the previous title.
A foreign game license is a permit issued for games developed by companies outside of China or those based on foreign-owned IP. With this approval, Aion Mobile and Ragnarok M: Eternal Love 2 have secured the right to officially launch in China. Given that Aion Mobile was mentioned during the Q3 2025 earnings call as being in development for a 2026 Chinese release, further information is expected to be revealed in the near future.
