Shakira and Beyoncé just made millions of fans' day. The "She Wolf" singer shared a photo of her and Queen Bey, sparking a major reaction.
On Monday, July 20, Shakira, 49, posted a photo of herself and Beyoncé, 44, from the 2026 World Cup finals between Argentina and Spain. It was the first photo of the two iconic singers since the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, three years after they collaborated on their smash hit single "Beautiful Liar."
Both Shakira and Beyoncé wore their hair in long, loose waves. The "Hips Don't Lie" singer wore a white and black catsuit with crescent moons, while Beyoncé wore a white lace, capri catsuit and a white chunky blazer.
Shakira captioned the photo: "What a day yesterday! Running into so many people I appreciate and respect, and receiving so much love from all of you!! Also, ¡que viva Colombia en este día y siempre!"
Fans rushed to the comments to share how excited they were about the stars' reunion. One person wrote: "LOVEE! SUCH AN AMAZING DAY!!" Another fan added in Spanish: "My God my Beautiful liar is aliveeeeeeeeee."
Someone wrote: "The impact of these photos just broke my phone." And one more person commented: "Wow wow what a duo Shak and Beyoncé."
Besides reuniting with the "Bodyguard" singer, Shakira also posed with BTS, Tom Cruise, Kevin Hart, Anya Taylor-Joy, MrBeast, David Beckham, and Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z.
Shakira and Beyoncé collaboration
In 2006, the singers released "Beautiful Liar," which melds Shakira's Latin style and Beyonce's love of hip-hop and R&B. It was extremely successful, peaking at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The two won the MTV Video Music Award for Most Earthshattering Collaboration at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
Shakira's World Cup performance
The Colombian superstar finally made her highly anticipated appearance during the Topps Final Halftime Show, joining her FIFA World Cup theme collaborator Burna Boy to perform their track, 'Dai Dai.' Also performing were Madonna, BTS, and Justin Bieber.
Shakira immediately commanded attention in a vibrant pink and orange custom Roberto Cavalli look that appeared designed to move with her.
The singer's crystal-covered bodysuit featured a daring asymmetric cut-out across the waist and hip, along with a high-cut silhouette and glittering orange and yellow detailing. A dramatic fringed mini skirt in vivid shades of pink, orange and yellow added further movement as she danced across the pitch.
"Thank you to everyone at @roberto_cavalli for this unbelievable outfit, and for always supporting me during some of the most unforgettable moments of my career," Shakira wrote to her Instagram story.
Burna Boy joined Shakira on the field, dressed more casually in a white T-shirt and dark trousers. The pair appeared to be having a ball as they performed together in front of the packed stadium.
