Adam Scott and Danielle Deadwyler's upcoming sci-fi thriller The Saviors now has a release date.
The two actors play married couple Sean and Kim Harrison in The Saviors. Their relationship is on the rocks, but their life takes a major turn when mysterious and unexplainable phenomena materialize after they rent out their guest house to a strange brother and sister duo.
According to Deadline, The Saviors will be released in theaters on March 26, 2027. This release date was announced after Vertical bought the North American distribution rights.
The film, which currently holds a 77% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, debuted earlier this year at the SXSW Film Festival in the Narrative Spotlight category alongside titles such as Anima, Crash Land, DreamQuil, Family Movie, Love Language, Poetic License, A Safe Distance, The Sun Never Sets, and Ugly Cry.
In a statement, director Kevin Hamedani said that it's a "dream" to be able to share The Saviors with audiences in a movie theater and expressed excitement over partnering with Vertical. "Their bold slate, fearless approach to storytelling and passion for championing distinctive films make them the perfect home for our movie," he explained.

Vertical's Peter Jarowey added that The Saviors "blends biting humor with edge-of-your-seat suspense" and praised Scott and Deadwyler's "terrific" performances in the film.

Scott and Deadwyler's co-stars in The Saviors include Theo Rossi, Nazanin Boniadi, Daveed Diggs, Ron Perlman, Greg Kinnear, Kate Berlant and Colleen Camp.
Aside from directing, Hamedani also wrote the script with Travis Betz. Scott and Deadwyler not only star in The Saviors, but they also serve as producers with Matt Smith, Dan Gedman, Nicholas Weinstock, Divya D'Souza, Naomi Scott, Bradley Gallo, Michael Helfant, Alyssa Roehrenbeck and Josh Sathre.
The sci-fi elements harken back to the iconic series The X-Files, which aired for 11 seasons and released two movies in theaters. Ryan Coogler is rebooting the show for Hulu and recently directed the pilot episode after writing the script. The Saviors' Deadwyler is also one of the stars of the new X-Files, along with Himesh Patel. They will play FBI agents who investigate paranormal and extraterrestrial activity, similar to the premise of the original series led by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Before this, Deadwyler's TV credits included The Haves and the Have Nots, Paradise Lost, P-Valley, Station Eleven and Rooster. On the big screen, she's appeared in The Woman in the Yard, Carry-On, I Saw the TV Glow and Till, among other movies.
Scott, meanwhile, played Ben Wyatt on Parks & Rec and is also the star of Apple TV's Severance. He's also appeared in Loot, Ghosted, Big Little Lies, The Good Place, Party Down, The Monkey, Madame Web and The Disaster Artist.
The Saviors will be released in theaters on Friday, March 26, 2027.
