ESPN insider Adam Schefter is best known for breaking NFL news, but he may have just revealed where LeBron James is heading this offseason.

James, 41, has not shared his plans for the 2026-27 season. It's been heavily reported that Cleveland, Miami and Philadelphia are the top suitors for him. While at Fanatics Fest last week, the four-time MVP discussed the importance of playing for the right culture.

“This is the [fourth] time in my career that I’ve been a free agent. So, it’s a big decision for not only myself, but for my family as well just for the last part of my career and where I want to spend the last few years,” James said. “Wherever I go, I will make my staple on just, I’m a natural-born leader. I am going to try to fit in with whatever team I go to but also give them all the tools and give them all the knowledge that I’ve been able to grasp over the last 23 years. I know the game. I know the ins and outs about the game of basketball.”

While a reunion with the Cavaliers was initially considered the most-likely scenario, Schefter was told that a return to the Heat is seriously in play for James.

"Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. There are people who are kind and think of me and send along information," Schefter said on 97.5 The Fanatic. "I can read you the exact text… Tuesday, June 30th, at 7:12 ‘I’m hearing Bron is coming to the Miami Heat, just giving it a heads up. You may want to check It out.’"

Did the Heat leak LeBron's free agency announcement?

On Tuesday night, a social media user (@HeatvsHaters) noticed that Miami's official YouTube channel posted a scheduled video with this title: “LeBron James Introductory Press Conference.”

ESPN’s Shams Charania said the scheduled live stream, which was confirmed to be from the Heat's official account, went up by mistake.

“The spokesperson told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday that the club’s social media department was preparing for the possibility of James’ signing and mistakenly posted the link to the team’s YouTube page,” ESPN reported. “The post was later deleted.”

We'll see if James, who averaged 26.9 points and 6.7 assists per game for the Heat from 2010-2014, returns to South Beach.

Tim Tebow comes out of ESPN bloodbath with new contract

There’s been a dark cloud above ESPN, except for Tim Tebow.
