Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" has been out in theaters for less than a week, and New Yorkers have the chance to see the film in its intended format.
"The Odyssey" is the first major motion picture to be filmed entirely with IMAX cameras, which were loaded with Kodak 65mm motion picture film made in Rochester, New York.
There are only 25 theaters in the United States showing "The Odyssey" in 70mm IMAX, which allows viewers to see the film in the highest resolution and on the largest screen available. Two of those theaters are located in New York.

There are only two NY theaters showing "The Odyssey" in 70mm IMAX:
- AMC Lincoln Square 13 & IMAX: New York
- Cinemark Tinseltown Rochester & IMAX: Rochester
What is 70mm IMAX?
70mm IMAX theaters will allow moviegoers to see "The Odyssey" in the highest resolution and on the largest screen possible.
Standard film strips are 35mm, so 70mm film makes the movie physically larger and higher-resolution. The 70mm IMAX screens are also huge, which will allow you to see the entire frame of the movie.
