It is not the first time that the film has been given a 4K restoration, but it is a new home media release. It includes a 4K disc, a standard Blu-ray, and a digital copy with a cover that boasts the striking silhouette of the Headless Horseman mounted on a horse alongside the twisted Tree of the Dead.
The discs also hold a few extras, including an audio commentary by Burton, a Behind the Legend documentary, and Reflections on Sleepy Hollow retrospective featurette. The bonus features turn the spotlight on the timeless tale ahead of a new major cinematic reimagining led by Sydney Sweeney. The modern remake promises to flip the script by shifting the perspective from Ichabod Crane to Katrina Van Tassel (the love interest in Irving's story).
