Maryland football has one starting quarterback in Malik Washington and plenty of options behind him, but the Terps opted to add one more, with Fordham transfer Jack Capaldi entering College Park ahead of the 2026 season.
The senior started nine games and played in 11 for Fordham in 2024, amassing 1,561 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions on a completion rate just under 50%. He also rushed 87 times for 154 yards and two touchdowns that season.
That action came because Fordham’s starter, former All-Patriot League quarterback CJ Montes, was injured. Capaldi appeared in one game for Fordham in 2025 but did not attempt a pass. He redshirted in 2022 and played in just one game in 2023.
