Although the job market is tough, not everyone’s eager to settle for a role that they’re not suited to. Niki Kozloski (@niki.kozloski) overheard what seemed to be an interview between a woman and two men. After she graciously declined the role, Kozloski was unsettled by the conversation the men had after.

Kozloski went on TikTok and said that she sat next to a woman at an unnamed cafe at Huntington Beach. She was with two men, who were wearing workout clothes. It seemed like she was declining a job offer or leaving a role.

“If that was you, you dodged a bullet, girlfriend,” Kozloski told TikTok. She was hoping that the video would reach the unknown woman. After she had left the coffee shop, Kozloski alleged that the two men started talking smack about her.

“It sounded like she really came up with a beautiful thing to say,” Kozloski said. The woman explained why she wasn’t interested in the role. According to Kozloski, the woman’s excuse had to do with wanting to spend more time with her mother. It’s unclear if the woman’s mother is sick or needed assistance, but she essentially chose family over the new job.

She rejected their job offer, so they mocked her

The woman eventually left the coffee shop, and the two men seemed disgruntled by the rejection.

“Don’t you know you’re talking to two males? We don’t give a [expletive],” Kozloski overheard one of the men. They were debriefing, but also ranting about the woman who had rejected their job offer. Like a neighbor who couldn’t stay out of a fight, Kozloski decided to snoop and write down what the men had said.

Kozloski said that the men “joked” about the woman having “mommy issues” for choosing her mother over a job prospect. Then, they proceeded to mock her appearance and lack of sleep.

“I wish I could’ve heard more,” Kozloski said. She was staring daggers into the men, who seemed to be talking about the woman disingenuously. Kozloski was disgusted by the men, calling them misogynistic for their comments.

“Girl, I hope that you find the absolute, beautiful, perfect job for you. I hope that you know that you’re a queen and you’re stunning and that these guys are losers. And I hope they see this and they know that I was sitting there, giving them dirty looks,” Kozloski stated. If true, the conversation she overheard would be frowned upon in a professional setting.

“Oh, and one of them also said that ‘my wife’s got me by the [expletive],” Kozloski added before ending her clip. It was an ironic way to end the clip, considering that the men had been lambasting a woman. Turns out, one of them is in his wife’s chokehold.

It went viral on TikTok

Kozloski hoped that the video would reach the anonymous woman, but her message has gone viral on social media. The clip has exceeded 4.5 million views on TikTok and has even reached people from Asia all the way to Europe.

TikTok users reacted to the story, with many confused by the men’s reaction. One commenter stated that companies “never write a reason for not hiring” a candidate. And yet, the woman in the story had to have some sort of satisfactory reason to turn the job down.

Others wrote in praise of the woman who walked away from the job. Nevertheless, the market is brutal. Someone’s even resorted to wearing a wig just to land a role in Olive Garden. But even during these desperate times, no job should come at the cost of dignity and respect.

Boxing star Hannah Rapp was killed while biking after boyfriend made perfectly innocent gesture at reckless driver: cops

It’s a gesture that any cyclist has probably made at a car that veered too close — and cops say it cost boxing star Hannah Rapp her life. Rapp, 26, an up-and-coming featherweight fighter, was cycling along a two-lane highway, FM 159, in Brazos County, Texas, on Saturday, when investigators say 31-year-old Charles Medina overtook her and her boyfriend Will Pollalis in his car with just a foot to spare. Pollalis yelled at the driver and raised his...
