Authorities are investigating the death of a Cumberland County man who was found in a local lake last week.

Millville police responded to the Canal Street boat ramps at Union Lake around 11 a.m. Friday for a report of an unresponsive man in the water.

Officers located Aven Youmans, 36, of Millville, and pronounced him dead at the scene, police said Wednesday.

The case remains under investigation, but his death does not appear suspicious, police said.

Officials have not released Youmans’ cause of death.
