A 51-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Earl George Nesbitt III. He was 51 and lived in Jasper. The wreck happened at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 78 eastbound, about a half mile before North Main Street in Graysville. A 51-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Earl George Nesbitt III. He was 51 and lived in Jasper.

The wreck happened at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 78 eastbound, about a half mile before North Main Street in Graysville.

Nesbitt was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:57 p.m.

Trooper Jaylon James said Nesbitt was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that left the road, struck Toyota 4Runner driven by Jordan L. Bainbridge, 23, of Warrior, and then struck a tree.

Nesbitt was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Alabama State Troopers are leading the investigation.
