Actuaries typically work for insurance companies. While the job may require a special certification, the work, assessing financial risk for their employers, is fairly straightforward.

2. Dental hygienist

Becoming a dental hygienist does require a license, and most hygienists are required to go through a program that lasts about three years.
Like many jobs in the health care field, though, hygienists are expected to stay in very high demand over the next decade. And once certified, day-to-day work helping patients with dental care is quite routine.

4. Computer and information systems manager
Median annual salary: $171,200
Many worry that tech jobs will be eliminated by the rise of AI, but the BLS predicts that employment for computer and information systems managers will grow 15% from 2024 to 2034.
These managers are needed in many fields to help manage computer-related activities. The work may be tedious at times, but it's always well-paid.
5. Elevator mechanic
Median annual salary: $106,580
Elevator and escalator installers and repairers often learn and get licensed through apprenticeship programs. The gig is expected to stay in high demand, with 5% projected job growth over the decade, pays very well, and is not likely to be replaced with AI anytime soon.
6. Genetic counselor
Median annual salary: $98,910
A genetic counselor is another gig under the health care umbrella that pays well, requires less schooling, and is projected to be in very high demand, with the BLS expecting employment to grow 9% over the decade.

Demand for information security analysts, who work to keep their employers' computer systems safe, seems to still be quite high even in an uncertain tech market. The BLS projects employment will grow a whopping 29% between 2024 and 2034.
Landing a well-paying gig likely requires experience and, sometimes, a certification, but the day-to-day work is often very straightforward.
9. Diagnostic medical sonographer
Median annual salary: $89,340
Diagnostic medical sonographers typically need to get some sort of certification, either through an associate's degree or another specialized program.
Once obtained, the work is pretty standard day-to-day; it involves using ultrasound equipment to assist patients in hospitals or offices. BLS data projects 13% job growth over the decade.
10. Accountant

Accountants often have busy seasons where overtime may be expected, like during tax season, but for the most part, accountants work pretty standard office jobs.
