Some are capable of casting the strongest magic in their series, while others are good at old-fashioned hand-to-hand combat. No matter what these women bring to the table, it's always exciting to see them finally let loose and show the world just how strong they really are.
Cha Hae-In

Cha Hae-In is famous in the world of Solo Leveling for her strength, but nobody would guess that based on her appearance. Outside of her armor in battle, she looks like a normal woman in her early to mid-twenties. She's stunningly beautiful, reserved, and isn't often seen hanging around too many people.
In battle, however, Cha Hae-In is one of the strongest Hunters in the entire series. Her nickhame is "The Dancer" because of how she fights. In battle, she floats across her opponents effortlessly, and there are few Hunters or Magic Beasts who can stand a chance against this wrecking ball.
Megumin
KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!
Megumin is one of the stars of KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!. It's one of the funniest isekai anime series ever made, and she's a big reason for it. Her banter with Kazuma, Darkness, and Aqua makes the series amazing. As a relatively small 13-year-old girl, Megumin doesn't exactly look that strong.
The opposite couldn't be more true, as Megumin is one of the strongest characters in KonoSuba. She only knows a single spell, and it happens to be the strongest in the Destruction Series. Megumin's Explosion Magic defines her. It's a ridiculously powerful spell that can level an entire city with a single blast.
Mitsuri Kanroji
Demon Slayer
There are a few powerful female characters in Demon Slayer, and none of them really show their strength when they're not fighting. No character is as whimsical and adorable as the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji. She's a jovial, fun, lighthearted character who doesn't look as strong as she really is.
Kanroji is one of the strongest Demon Slayers around. She's so strong that she had a hard time coming to terms with her own strength when she was young. She joined the Demon Slayers so that she could find someone who would not only tolerate her strength but appreciate it. As the Love Hashira, she fights like no other Demon Slayer, proving that she's got a few tricks up her sleeve.
Kikoru Shinomiya

Even though she's just a 16-year-old rookie within the Defense Force, Kikoru Shinomiya is a walking one-woman-army. She quickly established herself as one of the strongest soldiers in the Third Division. After being transferred to the First Division, she's wasted no time, letting her new squad mates know exactly what she's about.
With her Numbers Weapon, Kikoru is closer to a Kaiju than a member of the Defense Force. She flies around the battlefield like a bolt of lightning, striking her Kaiju enemies with ferocious impunity. She's already one of the strongest Defense Force members around, and she has just started fighting. There's no telling what the future holds for this behemoth of a warrior.
Angel (Kanade Tachibana)
Angel Beats!
Angel Beats! is a cult-classic anime series that stands out for a number of reasons. It's an amazingly succinct series that can be finished in less than 15 episodes. It's also an anime original that doesn't use a manga as source material, and it puts forward one of the most thought-provoking and original premises in a long time.
One of the most interesting characters in the series is Kanade Tachibana, better known as Angel for most of the series. Angel is the enemy of the AfterLife Battlefront, and she's a formidable foe. While she looks like a normal student, her abilities allow her to create weapons out of nothing. She can deflect bullets, create clones of herself, and kill AfterLife Battlefront members with ease.
Android 18
Dragon Ball
Android 18 has had one of the best story arcs in Dragon Ball. She started the series as a sociopath who couldn't care less for anyone around her. After the Cell Saga, she came around (thanks to Krillin) and became one of the strongest Z Fighters that Earth could rely on.
Android 18 is a lot different from the other villains in Dragon Ball. Villains like Frieza, Cell, and Kid Buu all look fairly evil at first glance. They have bulking muscles, menacing stares, or villainous stances that give them away. Android 18 looks like a normal human girl. In Future Trunks' timeline, however, she proves that she can be a monster too.
Biscuit Krueger
Hunter x Hunter
Biscuit Krueger is a great example of a powerful female character who does well to hide her hidden strength. She's a major ally to Gon and Killua during the Greed Island Arc of Hunter x Hunter. At first, the pair don't want to have anything to do with her because her appearance makes her look like more of a liability than an asset.
She later reveals her strength to the two boys and neither can believe just how strong she is. She's incredibly powerful in a number of ways, and her real form is so menacing that even Killua could barely comprehend it. Biscuit Krueger is actually one of the strongest Hunters in the entire series, but nobody would guess that on first glance.
Makima
Chainsaw Man
Makima's real power still hasn't been shown in Chainsaw Man, and that makes her terrifying. She's a calm, collected character who has Denji wrapped around her finger. The only real instances of her power being shown were when she was shot in the head at point-blank range and survived, killing her assailants mysteriously.
The second time Makima's power was shown on-screen was when she was using prisoners to kill her enemies from miles away. By twisting her hands over one another, she was able to flatten enemies that she couldn't even see. She looks like a normal girl, but underneath her charming appearance is a beast of a Devil Hunter.
Maple (Kaede Honjo)
Bofuri: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense
Maple is one of the most adorable characters in anime. She's also one of the strongest characters in the video game that she plays with her friends, and it happened entirely by accident. Maple started her new game her own way, allocating all of her stat points into defense. While she's pretty slow because of it, she became untouchable.
No character can really damage her, giving Maple the ability to destroy almost every threat in her way. She's taken the powers of the characters she's defeated and made them her own, becoming a monster in the process. Nobody would be able to tell that one of the strongest players in the entire game is actually just a happy-go-lucky teenage girl.
Yor Forger
Spy x Family
Yor Forger is the textbook definition of a powerful female character who hides her true strength. She does it on purpose as well, as she doesn't want to let anyone know what her true identity is. During the day, Yor is a normal office clerk. At night, she's the deadly assassin known as the Thorn Princess.
Yor is so strong that it's hilarious. She does a great job of hiding her true strength from Loid, but when she drinks, she can't help but let loose. Loid couldn't believe how strong Yor was when she fought him, and she's knocked out the world's greatest spy on more than one occasion.
