Police say suspects fled on foot after crashing a stolen vehicle during a hit-and-run, with at least one person later taken into custody.

One person is in custody after a stolen vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning, leading to a foot pursuit in southwest Oklahoma City, police say.

The Oklahoma City Police Department says the incident began around 7 a.m. near South Western Avenue and Southwest 125th Street when a reportedly stolen vehicle from Moore crashed into another vehicle.

Police said civilians involved in the crash followed the suspect vehicle following the collision, with the pursuit continuing north toward South 119th Street. Police say the suspects then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

News 9 spoke to the owner of the stolen vehicle, who said he woke up Wednesday morning and noticed his car was missing. The victim said his father later saw two people driving the stolen vehicle, followed them and witnessed the crash.

Police confirmed at least one person was taken into custody. Another suspect reportedly fled on foot,

The investigation remains ongoing. No names have been released.
