Here is one sleeper player at each offensive position group to watch when the Chicago Bears kick off training camp.

The Chicago Bears are kicking off training camp in just a few short days, which means it'll present the opportunity for new names to break through onto the scene and potentially create an impact in the 2026 season.

Last year, the Bears were in their first year under head coach Ben Johnson, and it was seventh-round rookie running back Kyle Monangai, as well as undrafted free agent wide receiver Jahdae Walker, who made an impact during the preseason and through the regular season.

Although most pieces are in place on the Bears offense this year, led by quarterback Caleb Williams, there are still doors open for other places to step up during training camp and the preseason. There is plenty of youth on the offensive side of the ball, but even more, there is untapped potential that will be on display during camp and the preseason. Here is one sleeper at every offensive position to watch this summer.

Quarterback: Miller Moss

Caleb Williams is the face of the Bears franchise, Tyson Bagent was a rumored hot commodity this offseason, and Case Keenum is the veteran in the quarterbacks room. But does Miller Moss have a chance in Chicago? If given the opportunity, Moss could be a player the Bears hold onto for depth purposes, on the practice squad, if he's able to perform at a high level during the preseason. Chicago held onto Bagent for a reason, and it shows their belief in him as their top backup, and while Keenum is a shoe-in for the roster given his role as a mentor for Williams, Moss might contend for a practice squad role.

Running back: Kyle Monangai

There's not much to sleep on when it comes to Kyle Monangai, but the intriguing part to watch is what will happen in terms of split carries between him and veteran D'Andre Swift. In his second season with Chicago, Swift had one of the best seasons of his career, a testament to being reunited with Ben Johnson and the rebuilt offensive line. Monangai had 169 carries in the regular season compared to Swift's 223, so there is a legitimate question if the coaching staff would like to decrease that gap between them and give the young player more opportunities within the offense.

Wide receiver: Zavion Thomas

Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III will grab all of the attention during camp, seeing if the two young receivers can carry the workload and lead their position group. But Zavion Thomas' skillset will be one of the most intriguing pieces to watch. Thomas has Odunze, Burden, and veteran Kalif Raymond on the depth chart in front of him, but as a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, there's plenty of reason to believe that the Bears want to get Thomas involved in different ways, both in special teams and on the offense. His speed will set him apart from most on this team and could present nightmare matchups for opponents during the preseason.

Tight end: Sam Roush

Colston Loveland will be a dangerous weapon for the Bears this season, and veteran Cole Kmet showed he understood the balance between himself and the 2025 rookie in the tight end room. Enter Sam Roush, another third-round pick, who is known for his high-level blocking techniques, which could also pave the way for him to find playing time this season. Roush may not get many targets in the passing game, but he can earn the respect of his teammates and coaches with getting his hands dirty in the ground and helping create holes in the run game.

Offensive line: Caden Barnett

Caden Barnett, also known as "The Vanilla Gorilla," should get on the field just based off his nickname, and he has the physical presence and play style that the Bears fanbase will embrace immediately. Barnett has experience and versatility across the offensive line, and while he likely will not challenge for a starting job, he could beat out some veterans for a bigger backup role heading into the 2026 season.
