"Thank you for being a friend."
"The Golden Girls" Kitchen, a pop-up restaurant themed after the iconic late-1980s television show, is coming to Austin on Aug. 20.
The fast-casual dining experience, which is presented by Disney Entertainment and Bucket Listers, will immerse fans in the Miami home of the show's beloved cast: Dorothy (Bea Arthur), Rose (Betty White), Blanche (Rue McClanahan) and Sophia (Estelle Getty).
"Bucket Listers is honored to now bring ‘The Golden Girls' Kitchen down to Austin, after sold-out runs across the country," Derek Berry, Bucket Listers president of experiences, said in a news release. "The opportunity to continue giving 'Golden Girls' die-hard fans a deeper appreciation for its lasting legacy has been a dream come true for us."
The menu features items like Sophia's Lasagna Al Forno, available with meat or as a vegan dish, as well as a Miami-style Cuban sandwich called The Lanai, Blanche's Georgia-Style Cookie, a Bacon Lettuce Potato Sandwich (Say It Fast), several flavors of cheesecake and signature cocktails or mocktails.
The pop-up experience will also feature photo opportunities recreating the show's kitchen table and lanai, along with brand-new "The Golden Girls" merchandise. It will also host scheduled drag brunches, sing-along events and trivia nights.
Tickets for "The Golden Girls" Kitchen will go on sale soon through Bucket Listers. Fans can join a waitlist to be notified when reservations become available.
