The 2025 Audi A5 in a Nutshell
The original Audi A5 was a coupe, but eventually added a four-door liftback body in the form of the A5 Sportback. But for the latest generation, it takes over the role once performed by the A4, serving as the brand's bread-and-butter sedan. It was part of Audi's odd-even naming scheme that was abandoned pretty quickly, although it was too late to change in the A5.
When you think about it, the new-generation A5 is technically the redesigned A4. Introduced in mid-2024 for the 2025 model year, the current A5 is still a relatively fresh model. That said, there are some updates for 2026, and Audi has even announced some changes for the 2027 model year.
2026 Audi A5 Lease Deals for July
At the moment, there are no national lease deals for the Audi A5, but we did spot a couple of offers that are well worth checking out. In California, the A5 Premium can be leased for $399 for 36 months with $6,599 due at signing. Meanwhile, in Florida, the same model goes for $499 per month with $5,169 due at signing.
Of course, it's best to check offers in your area by entering your ZIP code in Audi's official offers page. Also note that some deals are restricted to the state's residents only. Per the usual, mileage is limited to 10,000 per year with a penalty of $0.25 per mile exceeded. These offers are valid until August 3, 2026.
2026 Audi A5 Highlights
Like most (if not all) Audis, the 2026 A5 is offered in three trims, namely Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Base prices start at $50,200 and go up to $56,700. Sadly, no Avant is offered for the U.S market. As for standard equipment, North American A5s come with Quattro all-wheel drive standard, as well as advanced driver assists, center airbags, power tailgate (it's a liftback, after all), power-adjustable steering column, top-view camera, and front seat heaters. Audi Signature Cars is also included.
For 2026, the A5 gets a new steering wheel that gets more physical controls that replace the capacitive touch panels. There's now also a button for the parking assists, while the infotainment software has been simplified. Improvements have also been made to the advanced driver assists, as well as the Virtual Assistant.
There's only one engine option for the North American A5, and that's the very familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four. It's effectively the same as the one found in the Q5, and it's good for 268 hp and 295 lb-ft, sending power to all four wheels.
Final Thoughts
Inevitably, the A5 will be cross-shopped with the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the like. The Audi does stand out by being one of the fresher models in its class, and as always, it's the car that splits the difference between the 3 Series and C-Class. That's not to say it's a compromised package at all, and the liftback body blends the practicality of a wagon while retaining the shape of a sedan. If it's a 'best of both worlds' kind of luxury sedan you're after, the A5 is one to try.
