Halo turns 25 this year, and XBOX is marking the occasion by putting Halo: Campaign Evolved on Game Pass as a day one release. The remake headlines the XBOX Game Pass July 2026 Wave 2 lineup, which spans eight additions through August 4 and also includes Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation. If the first wave didn’t have enough for you, the back half of the month should fix that.

First up is The Planet Crafter, now available on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. This terraforming survival game sends players to a hostile planet with one mission: make it habitable for humans. You’ll gather resources, build a base, and produce machines to heat the planet and generate a breathable atmosphere, either solo or in online co-op. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was supposed to be added as well, but XBOX removed it from the lineup on July 13. In a statement provided to PlayDayOne, Activision said it’s continuing to work through the necessary licensor approvals and will share an update when it has one.

The first day one release of the wave arrives tomorrow, July 22, with Shift at Midnight on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This online co-op detective horror game has you working randomly generated shifts alongside two other players, investigating your customers and trying to spot the ones who aren’t what they seem. One mistake, and you’ll be boarding up windows, setting traps, and hiding. The following day, July 23, Hell is Us joins on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers. Developed by Rogue Factor and published by Nacon, this third-person action-adventure launched in September 2025 and is set in Hadea, a nation shattered by civil war and a supernatural calamity. It’s built around brutal melee combat and exploring on your own terms, with no hand-holding pointing you along.

Arguably the main event of this wave is Halo: Campaign Evolved, arriving July 28 as a day one release on Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Rebuilt from the ground up, it’s a faithful remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign with HD visuals, refined controls, four-player online co-op, and an expanded arsenal of weapons and vehicles, plus new enemies. Every edition includes Operation: METEORITE, a new three-mission story arc starring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson, set a year before the events of the original game. Cross-play and cross-progression are included.

The remake is also notable for being the franchise’s first appearance on a PlayStation console, though as we covered in June, playing on PlayStation 5 still requires an XBOX account. We’ve also already shared the PC requirements if you plan on going that route, and Premium Edition and Collector’s Edition owners get early access starting July 23, five days before the Game Pass version unlocks.

The end of the month brings Mistfall Hunter on July 30, a day one release on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This dark fantasy extraction ARPG was first teased for Game Pass back in April, and it has players combining class-based skills, talents, and gear as they fight through runs solo or with a team. Corsair Cove follows on July 31 on PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This city builder has players constructing a sprawling pirate haven, raising a fleet to explore the high seas, and managing production chains covering everything from ale to flintlock pistols, all while governing a rowdy crew and taking on the crown.

The wave officially wraps on August 4 with two additions, one going back to the ’90s and one brand new. Heretic + Hexen, the definitive re-release of two dark spell-casting shooters that launched last August, arrives now with Game Pass Premium and joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC. Joining it is Beast of Reincarnation, a day one release on Cloud, XBOX Series X|S, Handheld, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. Game Freak’s new action RPG blends real-time and turn-based combat in what the studio describes as a “one-person, one-dog action RPG,” following Emma and her dog Koo through a beautiful yet harsh post-apocalyptic Japan. It hits its August 4 release date simultaneously on Game Pass.

The announcement also catches up on a couple of additions that slipped in between waves earlier this month. Buckshot Roulette, a tabletop horror take on Russian Roulette, arrived July 8 for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers, while Denshattack!, the train-grinding action game set in a colorful Japanese dystopia, hit Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on July 15. On the benefits side, Zenless Zone Zero players on PC across all Game Pass tiers can claim an S-Rank Agent of their choice starting July 29 for the game’s second anniversary.

Along with the new arrivals, XBOX confirmed that eight titles are leaving the Game Pass library on July 31, so wrap up what you’re playing or save 20 percent on your purchase before they go. Notably, Sniper Elite: Resistance and Whiskerwood only joined the lineup in November.
