A retail theft ring across several Lululemon and Ulta stores in the Triangle and elsewhere in North Carolina has led to an arrest.
Cary police allege Jhaniyah Tittle and another woman stole more than $35,000 in clothing, cosmetics and fragrances from retailers across several cities, and obtained a warrant to search Tittle’s phone for communications and evidence connecting them to the thefts.
Tittle and an unidentified woman stole about $35,717 of merchandise over a three-month span, according to investigators' findings. The thefts occurred between April 4 and July 4, mainly at Lululemon and Ulta. On June 28 at the Lululemon in Fenton, the two allegedly took $3,720 worth of leggings, tank tops and sports bras. Surveillance footage showed them leaving Fenton with the clothing in a silver Hyundai Sonata with a pink steering wheel cover.
Other thefts from Triangle stores included:
- July 4, Holly Springs Ulta: $8,170
- July 2, Morrisville Ulta: $1,470
- June 27, Raleigh Ulta: $4,055
- June 19, Morrisville Ulta: $3,938
- June 11, Cary Ulta: $4,089
Cary officers calculated losses of $13,818 from Cary stores. There were other thefts in Apex, Wilson and Goldsboro.
Tittle was arrested on July 8 for offenses of felony larceny, misdemeanor child abuse, and misdemeanor larceny.
The warrant describes the other woman involved as a pregnant female involved in several larcenies at Ulta.
Police viewed public Facebook stories in which Tittle allegedly showed an Airbnb, an orange Ulta shopping bag containing products and the pink steering-wheel cover. The features at the home in the Facebook story were consistent with an Airbnb on Beckett Chase Way in Raleigh.
