During the dog days of NBA summer we often talk about topics we don’t have time for during the rush of the regular season, playoffs, and draft. Often these questions are novel, some purely hypothetical. Among them all, none has been as enduring as the one we’re going to ask today, a Blazer’s Edge tradition dating back to the earliest days of the site.
Consider this as the Trail Blazers roster so far:
Guards: Damian Lillard, Ja Morant, Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, Jrue Holiday, Vit Krejci
Forwards: Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, Sidy Cissoko
Centers: Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams III, Micah Potter, Yang Hansen, Branden Carlson
Having reviewed that list, what player from all of Portland Trail Blazers history would you add to the roster to create the best combination of talent boost, roster balancing, and fit?
You can pick any player from any era for any reason. If you think Clyde Drexler’s superstar ability would carry this team over the top even though they already have plenty of guards, go for it! But remember all three criteria: talent, balance, fit (in terms of skills and contributions).
