A modeling scout whose name appeared over 2,000 times in the Jeffrey Epstein files has been found dead at his home in Paris, French prosecutors have reportedly confirmed.
An investigation has been opened to determine Daniel Siad’s cause of death after the discovery in Colombes, a north-west suburb of the French capital, on Monday, officials told BBC and Le Monde.
Siad, 69, was under investigation in France over accusations of aiding the late convicted sex offender to traffic and abuse women. He was described by one alleged victim to the BBC as “essentially a professional trafficker.” He denied the allegations and told CNN in a recent interview he “trusted” Epstein and believed him to be a “professional person.”
Files released by the Department of Justice, and reviewed by CNN, showed that Epstein had paid tens of thousands of dollars to Siad.
Another modeling agent and associate of Epstein, Jean-Luc Brunel, was found dead in prison in 2022 while under investigation by French authorities over the rape and trafficking of minors. He had denied any wrongdoing.
Daniel Siad’s Cause of Death
The Nanterre prosecutor’s office said that an investigation to determine the cause of death was launched on Monday.
An autopsy will be carried out as part of the investigation.

Siad Denied Knowledge of Epstein’s Abuse
Siad told CNN in a recent interview that he did not know any of the women he recommended to Epstein were being harmed.
He continued working with Epstein even after Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor. He said Epstein had assured him that it would never happen again.
“I trusted him and believed this guy was a professional person,” he told CNN. “I never heard anything from anyone I introduced to him who came back to me that they had a bad situation.”

Siad’s name appears more than 2,000 times in the Epstein files released by the U.S. Department of Justice, including emails and messages exchanged as late as 2019.
In messages exchanged in February that year, Siad sought to introduce Epstein to a woman.
“Helly Jeffrey my friend the Thai actrice is new York if you have time to invite her,” Siad said in one message. Epstein later replied that he had invited the woman to his house, but that she “wants to meet in a restaurant.”
In an email exchange with Epstein in July 2014, Siad appeared to express his disappointment after Epstein did not show up for a meeting.
“I had 2 girls from Sweden, a Slovakian, 2 French and [redacted] the Russian, with whom you spoke and a beautiful Chinese named Star,” he wrote.
Epstein replied that he would reimburse Siad for expenses.
Siad then replied: “In This busyness I feel like fisherman some time I cache quick, some time no fish,” he wrote.
