Which Jayden Daniels will we see in 2026?

"Which year does Year 3 look like for Jayden Daniels? Year 1 or Year 2?"

That is what Rich Eisen wanted to know on his show (The Rich Eisen Show) when he inquired on Wednesday regarding the Commanders. Eisen wasn't beating around the bush regarding Daniels. He had his set of questions ready to go, assessing the Commanders' top quarterback.

• "Year 1, is he the revelation at the position? Is he the revelation that we saw at the position in his rookie season?"
• "Or is he a guy that is slight in body, who will get knocked around, who will take unnecessary shots potentially, and then doesn't answer the bell because he is hurt?"
• "No fault of his own, but is that what it is?"
• "Or, is he the man and we're going to have to say, who's the best playmaker on the team? Where is the playmaking going to come from, becomes that much more stupid."

"I don't know," is how Eisen then responded to his own questions. That's something Eisen has in common with everyone in Ashburn and all of us as well. We simply have no idea how Daniels is going to hold up in Year 3. We also have no idea who Daniels will accept being told more by coaches to be more careful and not as reckless when running.

"And then, of course, all of it plays into Dan Quinn's viability. It certainly does, and Quinn knew this months ago. That is why he determined it was not time to mess around, but he needed to bring in two entirely new coordinators in David Blough (OC) and Daronte Jones (DC).

When was the last time there was this much uncertainty entering a Washington Redskins/Commanders training camp?
