Marc Cucurella has become one of the most charismatic and recognisable players in the Spanish national team. His distinctive long hair, his energy on the pitch and his down-to-earth manner off it have won over plenty of supporters who chanted his name as he helped Spain win the 2026 World Cup.
Beyond football, though, many people are curious about one thing: where does Marc Cucurella live and what is his private life like? Here’s a closer look at the life he is leaving behind in the UK and the town where he grew up.
Where does Cucurella currently live?
After signing for Chelsea, Cucurella and his family moved into an elegant property on the outskirts of London, where he has lived since 2022. Before that, he was based in Brighton during his time at the club there.
Until now, the full-back has been living in Cobham, an exclusive area in the county of Surrey closely associated with elite football thanks to its proximity to Chelsea’s training facilities. The house stood out for its bright white façade.
Inside, the style followed a minimalist, Nordic-inspired design. The main floor was laid out as a large open-plan space combining the living and dining areas, centred around a substantial marble table. The property also included a private gym and a heated indoor swimming pool.
Where is Cucurella from?
Marc Cucurella is originally from Alella, a small municipality in the province of Barcelona, in the Maresme district. Born in July 1998, he grew up in this town near the Mediterranean Sea.
He left Alella before joining the youth academy at Espanyol, and later that of Barcelona. He has also played for other Spanish clubs such as Eibar and Getafe, before moving to England.
Alella, Cucurella’s hometown
The municipality of Alella offers a privileged setting, known for its calm atmosphere and high quality of life. Just a few kilometres from Barcelona and set along the Costa del Maresme, it is a traditional Catalan town with all the conveniences of modern life.
Alella is particularly associated with its wine production and natural surroundings, framed by vineyards and rolling hills. The mild climate throughout the year makes it easy to enjoy its green spaces, walking routes and the nearby quieter beaches.
As for the property market, the price per square metre in Alella is among the highest in the Maresme area. In June 2026, the average stood at €3,528 for purchasing a home.
Who is Cucurella’s partner?
Marc Cucurella has been in a relationship since 2018 with Claudia Rodríguez, who is from Barcelona and has a public profile linked to fashion and social media. With a background in design and ballet, she works in communications. The couple currently have three children, and at home they speak Spanish, Catalan and English fluently.
