The release of the iPhone 18 may just be around the corner.
Though an official announcement and release date for the iPhone 18 have yet to be shared, many are hopeful details about the latest Apple smartphone will come in September, following tradition.
Since the release of the first iPhone in 2007, more than half of Apple's iPhone announcements have taken place in September. Most recently, Apple announced the iPhone 17 lineup and iPhone Air on Sept. 9, 2025.
Aside from the iPhone 18, tech insiders are hopeful Apple will announce the first foldable iPhone, though details about such a product have yet to be shared.
In June, Apple announced the release of iOS 27 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. The new operating software includes several software updates, including the launch of Siri AI, a standalone app for the AI-powered assistant.

What rumors say about possible new features for the iPhone 18
Details about the iPhone 18 have not been shared officially by Apple, as of July 21, though tech insiders have speculations.
Apple-focused outlets 9to5Mac and MacRumors predict the iPhone 18 will feature a new A20 Pro chip, permitting more power and efficiency with smaller tech. The new smartphone may also include a variable camera aperture, providing greater control over depth of field; longer battery life and a thicker overall design. MacRumors also reported the new iPhone 18 may be available in Dark Cherry, a new color for iPhone.
