Weather conditions and UVB forecast in South Africa’s provinces
Gauteng
Gauteng can expect partly cloudy in the extreme south, otherwise fine and cool, but warm in the extreme north.
The expected UVB Sunburn Index is Moderate
Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga, the Place of the Rising Sun, can expect fine and cool to warm.
Limpopo
In Limpopo, morning fog in places, otherwise fine and cool to warm.
North West
North West, known as Bokone Bophirima in Setswana, can expect fine in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Free State
In the Free State, partly cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and thundershowers.
Northern Cape
Fine in the central parts, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers. It will be cold over the extreme south. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly to northerly, becoming light to moderate from the evening.
Western Cape
Cloudy and cold to cool with intermittent rain over the south-west in the morning spreading eastward from the afternoon, while clearing from the west from the evening. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly to westerly but strong in the south-west, becoming moderate southerly to south-westerly along the south-west spreading eastward in the late afternoon.
The expected UVB sunburn index is Very High
Eastern Cape
The Western half: Fine in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and cool with isolated to scattered showers in the evening along the coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.
The Eastern half: Partly cloudy and cool with morning showers in places over the interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.
KwaZulu-Natal
Morning fog over the northern interior, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, but fine in the extreme north. Isolated showers and rain are expected along the south coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate northerly to north-easterly, becoming moderate to fresh south-westerly to southerly in the extreme south early-morning and spreading to Mtunzini in the afternoon.
