New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye arrived for training camp the same day as the rookies on Tuesday.
The All-Pro gunslinger is looking to lead by example as the franchise quarterback, arriving ahead of the mandatory reporting date. It has been a successful two-season run for Maye, who experienced a Year 2 leap the likes of which few expected.
In a snap of a finger, he went from a promising young quarterback to a Super Bowl contender and runner-up for the 2025 NFL MVP award. He'll be heading into his third NFL season looking to prove last season wasn't a fluke and that the Patriots truly belong among the NFL's upper echelon of teams.
Maye and company will need to hit the ground running with one of the hardest schedules in the league awaiting them in 2026.
Along with Maye returning for work, the Patriots' social media team also captured the rookies arriving for their first NFL training camp.
Some of the highlighted newcomers are first-round pick offensive tackle Caleb Lomu and third-round pick tight end Eli Raridon. There is hope that second-round pick edge rusher Gabe Jacas will contribute as well, assuming his contract situation is finally resolved.
