Vosteed’s ultra-thin titanium EDC knife gets a sneaky utilitarian upgrade

When it dropped in 2025, Vosteed’s Parallel pocket knife made an immediate impact on the EDC world. To this day, it remains among the thinnest locking folding blades ever made.

Now, the brand has revisited that monumental release with a nature-inspired upgrade package called the Vosteed Parallel A3522 that improves upon the original in several key ways.

Friendly, neighborhood spider … knife

There are two pretty significant upgrades or updates to this version of the Parallel. The first is pretty obvious, in that you can see it, but it might be a bit more significant than you might first realize. And the second can’t entirely be gleaned with just the naked eye.

Let’s start with the obvious one: the handle. While this knife maintains the same titanium handle the Parallel has always had, this new edition has a never-before-seen spiderweb pattern.

But this isn’t merely a stylistic update. The pattern is etched on the handle scales, giving it a raised texture. This fixes one of my biggest gripes with the original Parallel: the lack of a sturdy grip. The spiderweb pattern adds a more tactile element to the handle.

The other upgrade is on the knife’s opposite side. Not only does this edition get a new tanto blade shape with a sturdier tip, but it also gets upgraded to S35VN steel, which offers better edge retention and toughness than the standard 154CM steel.

Upgraded, but still faithful

Lovers of the original Parallel need not fret. For the most part, this new version remains faithful. As mentioned, it retains the signature titanium handle scale material, which is as strong as it is lightweight.

It also has the same overall silhouette and size specs. It is still 7.04 inches total, putting it right in the EDC sweet spot, and has a 2.9-inch blade, same as the original, despite the shape swap.

It also retains many of its smaller elements. Most notably, it has the same crossbar lock that, in part, allows for the knife to be as thin as it is while still maintaining locking blade security. It also has the same thumb stud deployment, reversible wire pocket clip, lanyard hole and caged ceramic ball-bearing pivot.

While it’s not a huge departure from the existing pattern, the upgrades are nonetheless significant. And it marks another exceptional addition to the Parallel’s robust lineup. It might even convince some skeptics to finally try out what I think is one of the most interesting, innovative EDC knives of the last few years.
