Vinicius Junior is a global star for Real Madrid and the Brazilian men’s national team, but some casual soccer fans saw him play for the first time during Brazil‘s run at the 2026 FIFA men’s World Cup.
Vini Jr. became a familiar face for three weeks — scoring four goals in five matches — before Norway upset Brazil in the Round of 16 on July 5. He looks completely different to what he looked like during the World Cup.
Brazilian outlet Portal Leo Dias exclusively reported Monday, July 20, that Vini Jr. underwent a chin harmonization procedure in Goiânia, Brazil. His girlfriend, Virginia Fonseca, went with him.
“The renowned dermatologist Dr. Alessandro Alarcão, a trusted professional of several celebrities, was responsible for the procedure,” the outlet relayed. “The doctor, who was in Miami, in the United States, flew to Brazil and landed in Goiânia with a single mission on his agenda: to exclusively attend to Vinícius Júnior and Virginia.
“To ensure maximum discretion, the clinic mounted a veritable war operation. The place closed its doors to the public and did not receive any other patients during the day besides the couple.”
Vini Jr. has not publicly commented on his procedure, but there have been several photos and videos of him circulating online that prove the reports are true, including one with Dr. Alarcão:
Vini Jr.’s last Instagram post showed him lying heartbroken on the field after Brazil’s loss to Norway. In the lengthy caption, he vented his immense frustrations — this was Brazil’s earliest men’s World Cup exit since 1990 — but maintained that “wearing the shirt of the Seleção is the greatest pride in my life.”
In other Vini Jr. news, Mundo Deportivo is reporting that he and Real Madrid are “far apart” on contract negotiations.
