Uvalde County officials identified 74-year-old Stephen Rolf as the man who died in last week's flash flooding.
The Uvalde Police Department previously announced a man died last Thursday while trying to drive through the flood waters. On Wednesday, the Uvalde County Sheriff's Office confirmed the man was Rolf.
Texas Department of Public Safety workers discovered Rolf's vehicle bobbing in the water at 10:30 a.m. on July 16, and a boat crew was able to confirm his death on site, police said last week.

Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home in Uvalde posted an obituary for Rolf and confirmed the tribute was for the man who died in the flooding.
Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, Rolf settled in Uvalde after a wide-ranging career with stints in law enforcement, education, the U.S. Army and trucking, according to the funeral home.
He lived in the country outside of Uvalde, a town "he proudly called home," the obituary said.
Uvalde Police previously announced that his family resides out of state. Agencies are required to notify the victim's family before publicly releasing names of the deceased.
Surviving family includes Regina Koon, John Rolf and Lisa Boardman, the obituary said.

Born in 1951, Rolf graduated from Little Rock's Catholic High School for Boys and began his career with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. He later studied education and taught at a Little Rock high school.
He then enlisted in the army and served until he was honorably discharged. Rolf later moved to Texas to attend Sul Ross State University, where he became fluent in Spanish.
Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home's post said Rolf built community at the at the Uvalde County Nutrition Center, which serves older adults.
"He loved the mild climate of Uvalde and found great joy in speaking Spanish with the wonderful friends he made," the obituary said.
