Wall Street's major averages rose on Tuesday after several beats on earnings reports from major corporations, while oil prices kept high as conflict in the Middle East persists.

The benchmark S&P 500 (SP500) was last +0.9%, while the heavy-tech Nasdaq Composite (COMP:IND) was +1.4%, and the blue-chip Dow (DJI) was +0.7%.

Over in the bond market, the 10-year Treasury yield (US10Y) rose 3 basis points to 4.63%, while the 2-year Treasury yield (US2Y) was 5 basis points higher at 4.27%.

Investors will turn their focus on the next batch of important companies reporting, including Alphabet (GOOGL), (GOOG), Tesla (TSLA), and IBM (IBM), among others.

President Donald Trump imposed an additional 50% tariff on certain goods from Canada as retaliation for "discriminatory treatment of American products," the White House said.

Crude oil futures (CL1:COM) were higher at $84, while Brent (CO1:COM) was $90 per barrel.
