Recently, we asked active US military members and veterans to share how they honestly feel about Trump and his administration, and they got extremely honest. From those who support Trump and those who don't, here's how those who served and those who are currently serving are reacting:
1."I am a US Army veteran. While in service to my country, one of my main responsibilities was to protect it from some of the nefarious actions I see ICE taking presently. If you are in America illegally, then, yes, you should be deported. That being said, there is absolutely no excuse for these jack-booted, masked, Gestapo-like thugs to be intimidating and physically abusing ANYONE! They have never been about deporting the 'worst of the worst.' And now, apparently unable and unconcerned with doing that, EVERYONE is fair game, including US citizens. **** all the people who act with impunity."
2."Trump and his administration are shameful. He leads with incompetence and graft. The military has been stripped of its best and most experienced by pusillanimous and petty political appointees. We are (or were) a nation of laws. We have now become a nation of rights given only to the privileged. It will take decades to erase the stain Trump has left."
—Robert, 69, Air Force

3."As a former USMC SSGT, I would not serve in today's military with him as Commander in Chief. He mocked Senator McCain for being shot down, referred to the men who died in Normandy as losers, and refused to attend a ceremony there because it was raining. Rear Echelon Bravo Foxtrot."
4."Vietnam veteran, age 83. He is the enemy within and the number one threat to democracy in this country."
—Anonymous
5."I like everything that Trump is doing! He and Congressional Republicans are doing their best to Make America Great Again, but it's the liberals who are stopping them. Trump is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers."
—Reynald, 31, Army
6."I am a female who proudly served 20+ years in the Air Force. I retired 32 years ago. During that time, we had some great leaders and a couple of not-so-good ones. But we never served under anyone as abysmally unqualified to be Commander-in-Chief. He is morally corrupt and has no regard for the Constitution, the people of the United States, or the world at large. Everything is about HIM. I DO NOT understand how or why the American people can support this man. He has destroyed our ties with our staunch allies. America was already great before Trump. It will take time and much effort to recover from this circus."
7."Marine here, who's also a son of a Vietnam Recon Marine and a grandson of a WWII soldier. Such incompetence displayed by this administration. It's the whole 'those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it.'"

8."I'm glad I'm not in a position to be ordered to commit war crimes."
—Tony, 71, California, USAF
9."Air Force vet here. Any current or former military personnel who support this president have earned the title that he has given you: suckers and losers."
10."There's no need for us to be in Iran. This is an Israeli war, not an American one. If we took out their nuclear weapons capability in June of last year, as Trump claims, then there's no need for us to be there at all, period. So is Trump lying? The money spent on this war could be better spent on healthcare, housing, food for the poor, or many other things, such as restoring USAID. With a national debt of over 39 trillion, the USA can't afford to support this war at all."
11."Vietnam veteran here. Our country is quickly becoming unrecognizable as the country I grew up in and served. We all took an oath to defend the Constitution, and that oath was for life. It does not end when you are discharged. It would be well for all of my brothers to remember that. It is horrible to watch how people are being treated by this administration. Change must come, or we are doomed as a nation."
—grouchysword333 (Scott, 72, Navy)
12."This is the most incompetent administration I've seen. They have no true national strategy and have a total disregard for our national interests. They also appear to disregard the international obligations that were created by the blood of our soldiers, airmen, sailors, coast guard, and marines. This administration has eclipsed the corruption of possibly even Putin. It will take generations for our nation to recover, and even then, it might not. We have a gutless Congress and Supreme Court filled with judges who are ruling from personal beliefs and not for the American people."
—Mike, 68, Marines
13."I am a veteran and a former police officer, and I find ICE's behavior reprehensible and unconstitutional. I am also seriously disappointed that Americans who claim to be 'patriots' continue to support this lawless administration, that of which continues to lie and provide misinformation to the American people."
14."I voted for Trump twice. I tried to justify his strange and sometimes bizarre actions and thinking, but I don't know if I can do it any longer. I regret my vote, seeing how everything has turned out so far. It hasn't even been a year into his term, and look where we're at. It's a mess, and I no longer recognize the state of the country I fought for."
—Anonymous, Marines
15."I don't know if it's Trump fatigue or not, but these days, I'm more appalled by the people in his administration: Pete Hegseth, the press secretary, Mike Johnson, the stain on the Kennedy family (RFK Jr.), etc. They make me even more sick because they just continue feeding into Trump's delusions."
16."I took an oath to protect my country from people EXACTLY LIKE TRUMP. How this POS isn't already in prison for trying to overthrow the government is beyond logic. The rapist insurrectionist and his entire administration will be in prison in three years if they're still alive, and this time, nobody is going to pardon them."

17."I've been involved in multiple wars throughout several administrations as an infantryman, paratrooper, and designated marksman. I agree that the Iranian theocracy and their support for terror states need to go away quickly, although I do not agree with the methods currently being employed by the United States. As has been proven many times, the US can and will win any military war. And as proven, we lose to guerrilla warfare, which Iran has sponsored for decades now. Our Commander in Chief is led by an amateur staff — a herd of yesmen scared to be fired by a spoiled brat who has never been told no. I have much more to say, but I should stop now."
—Timothy, 53, Army
18."This is the most disgraceful administration our country has ever had, hiding behind Christianity and our flag to send our brothers and sisters into battle for their political greed and power. Starting with Trump and his entire staff of cowards, they should all be rotting in jail for starting this war, and all the cowards of Congress, Republicans and Democrats, who didn't have the patriotism and honor to stop it."
—Paul, 66, RI USMC and US ARMY
19.Lastly: "I'm active. Morale is low, and people don't exactly know what we're getting into. Many people are scared that boots will be on the ground soon. Trump said, 'No new wars.' Just a whole bunch of **."
