New York Yankees shortstop Jose Caballero was involved in a heated interaction with the umpire at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees suffered a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates, which saw Caballero warned following a pitch-clock violation.
Frustrations were apparent as Caballero pleaded his innocence to umpire Quinn Wolcott after the sixth inning crack down.
This is not the first time Caballero has been warned of the pitch-clock violation after being spoken to against the Toronto Blue Jays just last month.
The MLB are looking to crackdown on Caballero’s routine, which involves the 29-year-old not acknowledging the pitcher until just before the clock reaches eight seconds.
Having grown tired of the routine, the decision to warn Caballero sparked a lot of frustration from the Yankees shortstop.

The Yankees are now heading to Philadelphia with a 57-45 record, which has them sitting in second spot in the AL East.
Caballero let off some steam during the 5-3 defeat to the Pirates after the call was made to remove him from the game.
“I’m doing my routine. Like I always do! I was looking at him,” Caballero said to the umpire.
“I was looking up at nine seconds. You’re picking on me! You’re picking on me!”
Hitting coach for the Yankees James Rowson was then ejected from the game for his protests.
Speaking to manager Aaron Boone and Caballero, the umpire made it clear that MLB are making an attempt to crack down on Caballero’s pitch-clock violations.
“The office has literally said: ‘We are done with it’,” said Wolcott.
“We have literally been told that you guys have been notified and that he is not allowed to do it.”
Given Caballero has already been warned as recently as June over his routine, this is going to be one to keep an eye on over the coming weeks.
