Tyler Perry Studios will be developing a virtual-production-enabled soundstage, Deadline reports.
The virtual soundstage will be built on his 365-acre studio lot in Atlanta. It will be brought to life in partnership with Synapse Virtual Production, which markets itself as the “premier” solution for partnerships across cinema and television on its LinkedIn and uses AI-supported tools.
“Our mission at Synapse is to bridge the gap between imagination and innovation. Partnering with Tyler Perry Studios represents a defining moment for both companies and for the future of content creation,” Synapse CEO Justin Diener said, according to Deadline. “Together, we are building an environment where filmmakers, artists, and creators can harness real-time tools to tell bigger stories, create more immersive experiences, and push the boundaries of what’s possible on screen. We are honored to help bring this vision to life alongside Tyler Perry and his incredible team.”
Deadline reports that the incoming soundstage will be transformed to include LED volume technology and real-time digital environments leveraging advanced camera tracking as well as real-time 3D engines.
The soundstage will benefit Tyler Perry Studios by making production more efficient, lowering costs, and providing more creative freedom. The studio says this does not change its commitment to the crew, which will remain “at the center of the process.”
“I’m paying close attention to what these tools can do, and I’m also thinking about the people who make this industry work,” Perry explained, according to Deadline. “This collaboration is about moving forward in a way that keeps crews working and traditional production jobs intact while also allowing creatives new ways to build worlds and tell stories for the big and small screens.”

The soundstage is projected to be completed this year.
