Two found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of a man and woman found with apparent gunshot wounds at a residence in the town of Galen.

Deputies responded to the home after the Wayne County 911 Center received a report around 11:46 a.m. of a male and female with possible gunshot injuries.

Investigation underway in town of Galen

Deputies located both individuals deceased at the scene. Detectives believe the incident was a murder-suicide, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The investigation remains active. Additional details were not immediately released.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Clyde Police Department, New York State Police, Clyde Fire Department and Wayne County EMS.
