This week, Tubi will debut the all-new animated series Breaking Bear. The clear spoof of the hit show Breaking Bad, just with animal characters and much more raunchy, will officially premiere on Tubi on July 24.
Ahead of the show's arrival on streaming, CBR can unveil an exclusive sneak peek clip. In the video, characters are wearing yellow suits while cooking meth in the back of an RV, just like Walt and Jesse in Breaking Bad. Problems arise when one of the bears starts jonesing for some honey, leading to a mix-up that may turn out to be inadvertently beneficial for the batch. Check out the video below.
Breaking Bad Gets Reimagined With Animals in Breaking Bear
Breaking Bear, per the official synopsis, is a "fur-flying, law-breaking, forest-saving rampage following a dysfunctional family of bears who go full criminal to stop frackers, mobsters, and a psychotic wolf pack from destroying their home. As they spiral deeper into the criminal abyss, they face off against biker gangs, an egomaniacal news anchor, and their own spectacular talent for self-sabotage."
Several big-name stars are a part of the animated show's voice cast. They include Oscar-winning actor Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Emmy winner Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Emmy winner Annie Murphy (Schitt's Creek), Elizabeth Hurley (The Royals), and Josh Gad (Frozen).
Breaking Bear is created by Julien Nitzberg (The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia) and produced by Evoke Entertainment and Tom DeLonge’s To The Stars Media. The animated show is executive produced by Tom DeLonge (Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker), Stan Spry (Creepshow, Day of the Dead), and Jeff Holland (Creepshow, Day of the Dead). Other EPs include Fraser, Gellar, Gad, and showrunner Julien Nitzberg.
Breaking Bear Is NOT an Animated Series for Young Viewers
This kind of series is able to push the envelope much further than what would be possible with a live-action show. In that regard, there will likely be many insane moments that are most certainly NSFW. With this in mind, viewers should keep in mind that Breaking Bear is not a series that's aimed for young children, no matter how cute the animated animals might be.
"This is the thing we could never do live action, right?" Gellar told CBR about Breaking Bear. "It's the kind of storytelling and the jokes that just are not okay unless it's animated. So it's an opportunity that you don't get that often."
Murphy continued, "I had such a blast playing Tawny and everything that Tawny becomes on the show. I can't wait to be able to talk about it. It's two significant things that I've never played before that I felt really liberated doing on this show. Which is...concerning."
Breaking Bear will officially premiere on Tubi on July 24, 2026. The first two episodes will debut on that date, followed by a six-episode drop on Friday, July 31.
