Tracee Ellis Ross was in New York on Wednesday promoting her Broadway debut in Every Brilliant Thing with an appearance on the Today show.
With temperatures remaining high, dressing for the heat while maintaining coverage can be a challenge, but Tracee seems to have found a formula that works for her. Following last week’s translucent Marc Jacobs look, she continued the sheer theme in Sportmax Spring 2026.
The black ensemble paired an asymmetric draped top with sheer organza trousers layered over high-waisted shorts, striking a balance between airy and covered. It’s a styling approach that feels especially practical in the summer heat while still delivering the fashion-forward edge we’ve come to expect from Tracee.
By her standards, this was also a surprisingly restrained outing. Tracee is rarely shy about embracing bold colours and vibrant prints, so seeing her lean into an all-black palette made the focus naturally shift to the trousers.
Styled with classic black pumps and a Celine bag, it may have been more muted than we’re used to seeing from her, but it still felt entirely in keeping with her fearless approach to fashion.
