A town centre post office will remain open for another month before it closes for good.
The branch in Woodley, Berkshire, is being forced to shut after Morrisons Daily announced it was closing its store in the precinct.
A search is under way to find a new home for the post office in the town centre but, in the meantime, customers have been told they will have to visit nearby branches from next month.
The post office, in Crockhamwell Road, was initially due to close on 12 July, but will now remain open until 19 August, with Morrisons shutting two days later on 21 August.
In a letter to customers, Billy Ware, Post Office's corporate account manager, said: "The provision of a Post Office service to our customers in the area is important to us, and we are working hard to find a solution to continue offering services to the community."
He revealed they were in the early stages of reviewing an application to run a post office branch.
Customers have been told that, in the meantime, they can visit other branches, including Brecon Road, Woodley, and the Broad Street Mall branch in Reading.
The Post Office said the Brecon Road branch was 0.9 miles (about 1.5km) from the precinct, while Broad Street Mall was four miles (6.4km) away.
The Post Office also highlighted its branches in Coppice Road, Woodley, and Wokingham Road branch in Reading.
