Tottenham believe what their fans already knew about Mikey Moore

Mikey Moore enjoyed a great 2025/26 on loan at Scottish Premier League powerhouse Rangers, scoring goals and taking defenders on mercilessly as a quickly beloved player for his brief club. Tottenham Hotspur fans are not fully convinced Moore is ready for the first team now, and the judgment rests entirely on the shoulders of Roberto De Zerbi, who still seems to be quietly assembling his list of winger targets for Tottenham this summer.

As Spurs mull over the likes of Cody Gakpo and Savinho on the left, Moore remains a sleeper option, though Tottenham already have two young players still fighting for playing time in French youth internationals Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel.

But Moore is someone the club are very, very high on, and in his latest appearance on the Last Word on Spurs show, PA Sport journalist George Sessions confirmed just how high Spurs are on Moore. He said that out of the players the club has, Mikey Moore is the one Tottenham Hotspur believe will break through as a star in the long term.

Considering Tottenham just sold Luka Vuskvoic and Will Lankshear and are on the verge of selling Lucas Bergvall to Nottingham Forest, the competition for Moore isn't exactly stiff. But if you consider Archie Gray, Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, and Souza as prospects at the club, there is still a lot of talent there.

Moore was getting bizarre Neymar shouts when he started getting opportunities for the Tottenham first team at the 2024/25 Europa League tournament, and whlie those were obviously very hyperbolic statements, there was something about the electricity and spark that the teenager offered.

It is that same spark that has already gotten Rangers fans to fall in love with Moore and practically beg for him to stay permanently. That is never going to happen, and Moore has graduated from playing for Rangers, with his next loan likely being another top five club in European football where he can, hopefully, have a similar impact to what Luka Vuskovic did at Hamburg in the Bundesliga last season.

Whether it is this year, next year, or even the year after, Tottenham have high hopes and all the confidence in the world in Moore. His ability to elevate his game in the biggest moments like the Old Firm Derby vs. Celtic for Rangers bodes well for what he can do under the spotlight of a Premier League Big Six club.
