NFL legend Tom Brady lost a hockey shooting contest to pop star Justin Bieber and nearly hit Fanatics Fest staffers when he chucked his stick in frustration.
In a video posted Saturday afternoon by the NHL’s official X/Twitter account, the two could be seen taking turns trying to fire a puck into a goal through small gaps of a goalie cutout.
Bieber, to his credit, was able to score with relative ease even as he backed farther away from the net. When it was Brady’s turn, the 48-year-old missed a point-blank shot from just a few feet away.
In response to the bad miss, Brady joking raised his stick and pretended he was able to smash the net. He then walked away smiling.
When it was Bieber’s turn, he continued to have success from long range. Brady, on the other hand, continued to struggle. On his final attempt, the retired quarterback nearly scored a goal from the farthest line from the net.
When he missed the opening by just a few inches, Brady’s stick suddenly appeared into frame and hit the cutout. A pair of Fanatics Fest staffers stood on either side of the net, and Brady narrowly avoided hitting them.
