A toddler died after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a holiday villa in Spain, an inquest has heard.
Two-year-old Hartley Wareham, from Ottery St Mary, Devon, died on 3 July - five days after he was found in the pool of a villa where family and friends were staying.
An inquest in Exeter heard Hartley's father pulled him from the pool and began CPR before his mother took over and neighbours called for an ambulance.
Paramedics restored his heartbeat and rushed him to hospital where he was given intensive treatment but his condition deteriorated.
Area Coroner Alison Longhorn said his cause of death included immersion in water, sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
The inquest has been adjourned to a later date.
