A beautiful private island in the Maine wilderness is on the market for a shockingly low price.
Porus Island, which is on sale for about $2.2 million, features a gorgeous four-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin, alongside a natural beach and stunning lakeside views.
The 4.5-acre island sits in a cluster of islands on Pemadumcook Lake, about 80 miles north of Bangor.
The site is only accessible by boat or float plane, which offers buyers an astounding level of privacy.
Its listing bills the island as the 'ultimate acquisition' for anyone seeking seclusion, nature and 'modern' off-grid living.
'You can do whatever you want,' listing agent Gina Brunda told the Bangor Daily News. 'Your island, your rules.'
The island's main attraction is a 1,400-square-foot cabin built by the current owners and completed in 2022.
The four-bedroom, one-bath property features an all-wood interior, hickory floors and cabinetry. A metal spiral staircase leads to a loft with additional sleeping space.
The island also offers views of Mount Katahdin, Maine's highest mountain, as well as multiple spots to watch the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
The property was listed on June 30 and has already received interest from buyers in Maine and elsewhere.
'It's a turn-key property,' Brunda told the outlet. 'You just have to bring your own clothes and food.'
The sellers would also include the cabin's furniture, personal belongings, pontoon boat, grill, lawnmower and other equipment 'with an acceptable offer,' according to Brunda.
Each room has gas-powered lighting, while solar panels or a generator supply power to hard-wired charging stations around the home.
A woodstove, heavy insulation and a gravity-fed water system help make the cabin usable year-round.
Currently, the sellers also have a permit to build another cabin on the private island if they desire.
Unlike many remote sites, the cabin has an indoor bathroom but there is also an outdoor toilet near the beach.
Then, the buyers can also enjoy the island's outside amenities, which includes a sprawling natural sand beach.
The private location includes a covered pavilion, an outdoor shower, a fire pit and several docks, as well as wooded trails that can be used for walking or riding ATVs.
Its listing jokes that the island's privacy is so intense that the buyers could even 'skinny-dip if you want!'
The sellers spent years meticulously building the property to be used as a vacation retreat for their multigenerational family.
'Everything was thought out and done to the best,' Brunda said.
A public parking area and boat launch off the Golden Road also provide access to the water.
The listing encouraged buyers to preserve those values, encouraging them to 'make this your multi-generational, family legacy.'
However, it also pitched the island as a private yoga sanctuary or as a ritzy location for a corporate retreat.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Realty of Maine, which listed the private island, for further comment.
