This is your last chance to buy Lego's one and only Super Mario World set

This Is Your Last Chance To Buy Lego's One And Only Super Mario World Set

Lego will retire its Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set this month, so buy it for less at Best Buy while you still can.

Lego has been working with Nintendo since 2020 and has created countless great Mario sets. However, its very best one, the Super Mario World set that puts Nintendo’s leading man on Yoshi’s back, is about to disappear forever, so this might be your very last chance to buy it.

One Of Lego's Best Mario Sets Is Being Sent Out To Pasture

The Super Mario World Lego set is not only one of Mario’s best so far, but also one of the most unique Lego sets available today full stop. Once complete, the set is designed to look as if it were pulled straight from the iconic SNES game, pixels and all.

Just how good the set looks is only half of it, though. Super Mario World was the real world’s first introduction to Yoshi. In the game, Yoshi could stretch out his long tongue to gobble up fruit and enemies. The interactive Lego set based on the lead characters from the game can do the same. Turn the set’s crank, and Yoshi’s mouth will open so that his tongue can emerge.

Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, especially not in the fast-paced world of Lego. The Danish toy brick company is making new sets every single day, which means older ones need to make way. This July, the Super Mario World set is one that will be forced to step aside. Selected for retirement, not only does that mean the set will never be available to buy again after this month, but retailers with stock to get rid of have been cutting the price.

The Super Mario World Set Is On Sale At Best Buy

The Mario & Yoshi set is still available on Lego’s website, for now, for its full $129.99 MSRP. That will either sell out or be removed from sale on July 31, 2026, never to return. However, if the price of the set has been what’s holding you back, and now you’re in a predicament as the price hasn’t dropped and the set is about to disappear, you can currently pick one up for less at Best Buy.

Best Buy has knocked a very welcome 30 percent off the price of the Super Mario World set. Not only does that bring the price down to less than $100, but it’s currently available for $90.99. Unlike Lego, Best Buy doesn’t have any interest in there being any of these sets left over once it retires. It needs them gone, which is why it has slashed the price with ten days to go until the set is retired.

The only caveat is that these sets are selling fast. It’s already proving difficult to find them online with your location, and whichever Best Buy stores are closest, playing in to whether you can buy the set online. If you’re not having luck online but you have a Best Buy nearby, it might be worth popping in when you get the chance. They might have sets on the shelves, potentially for even less as the end of the month inches closer. Waiting will be a gamble, though.
