I’m not easily influenced by celebrities, except for when it comes to beauty and fashion favorites of Oprah, Martha Stewart, and Meghan Markle. Not only do they each have impeccable taste, but they actually use stellar products.
My latest obsession comes courtesy of the Duchess of Sussex, whose smooth, radiant complexion is thanks to this underrated foundation from the brand No Makeup Makeup. Considering Markle has sold it out before, I suggest grabbing one (or two) while it’s still in stock on Amazon.
No Makeup Makeup Foundation
Much like the brand’s name suggests, the cream-balm foundation melts into the skin and provides an undetectable finish. Seriously, it doesn’t look like you have makeup on—so much so that strangers have asked me what my skin care secrets are, not realizing that I’m wearing foundation.
Despite its barely-there, filter-like effect, the four-in-one formula smooths, conceals, corrects, and camouflages all at once. I mostly struggle with inflammation and post-acne hyperpigmentation (which I have on both cheeks), and the foundation hides my redness and discoloration seamlessly. But if I need extra coverage, I can build it up without it looking cakey.
In addition to its camouflaging powers, the formula features two powerhouse skin care ingredients: jojoba oil and vitamin E, which both hydrate, protect, and repair skin so that it feels soft and supple.
Although you can’t go wrong with this near invisible foundation, there is a slight learning curve to its application. Since it has a cream-balm consistency, it works best when you use the smallest amount—you should barely be able to see the product on your brush. You’ll also want to lightly stamp it in versus swiping it onto your face that way it looks like second-skin. Otherwise, you’ll see streaks from the brush hairs. Once you nail the application, the foundation stays put for at least nine hours—even in Texas’s swampy heat!
I’m not alone with this sentiment, either. One 40-year-old Amazon shopper explained the foundation “doesn’t feel heavy, even in the heat,” and gives “a beautiful skin” finish. Another fan with “wrinkles and a bit of rosacea” says the foundation “covers my red/ruddiness nicely,” and doesn’t “settle in my fine lines.” A 57-year-old reviewer added that it “lasts all day long” and “makes my skin look so even and smooth.” A final shopper in their 60s put it best, sharing, “my skin looks flawless!”
