These OnePlus phones will get the ColorOS 17 upgrade

Now OnePlus has, at long last, confirmed its exit from the US, UK and European markets, which likely has existing users wondering where they stand.

The Chinese firm has announced that support will continue, but in terms of software upgrades, this will come in the form of ColorOS, the operating system by parent company Oppo, as found on devices like the Find X9 Ultra.

ColorOS and OxygenOS are very similar, so it shouldn’t take users too long to acclimatise, though you also have the option to stay on Oxygen if you prefer.

Which OnePlus phones (and tablets) are eligible to transfer to ColorOS is the big question. There’s no official list at the time of writing, but in simple terms it comes down to whether the device in question was still set to get OS software support or not.

On that basis, and with some help from leaker Yogesh Brar, we’ve identified the OnePlus devices which will be able to upgrade to ColorOS 17 (and beyond for some) when it arrives in the coming weeks.
