A proper trailer for The Witcher 3’s final DLC expansion will be shown at Gamescom, but don’t expect any updates for The Witcher 4.
After being rumoured for months, CD Projekt finally admitted that it’s making another DLC expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, 10 years after the last one.
As is typical of major reveals nowadays, little else was shared outside of a name – Songs Of The Past – a 2027 release window, and a piece of promotional art confirming series protagonist Geralt will still be the lead character. Plus, it’ll only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
CD Projekt did promise it would have to more to share in late summer and, as suspected, it turns out it was referring to Gamescom, where the company will debut a proper trailer for the DLC.
When does Gamescom 2026 take place?
Gamescom is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 25 with the Opening Night Live showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley, where multiple publishers will be making new announcements.
That’s where CD Projekt intends to show off Songs Of The Past, although it’s also promising a ‘guided presentation’ at its booth during Gamescom, from Wednesday, August 26 to Sunday, August 30.
Public showcases will also be available according to CD Projekt’s website, but there’s no sign the DLC will actually be playable, although CD Projekt doesn’t specify either way.
Little else is confirmed or rumoured to be announced during the Opening Night Live show, although Konami has promised a brand new trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall.
