Those who like the comfort of the hair secured up and out of the way will also do well with this shape as it is designed to stay in place and not be moving or swishy.”
However, like many other short hairstyles, there is a level of styling to account for when it comes to everyday wear. If you’re someone who prefers to rock a just-woke-up-like-this beauty ensemble, you may want to reconsider. On the plus side, the power pixie is objectively short, meaning the time it takes to style is minimal compared to a bob or longer lengths.
“The crucial detail is a styling powder,” says Smith. “This is used at the root area to provide support and hold without the look of product. It’s ideal for those who have soft or flat hair as the control and volume it gives offers immediate control over the hair.”
Even thicker hair types, which have a tendency to part in a certain place or sit heavily, can enjoy the benefits of a styling powder, as it provides hold and structure.
“For the sleek definition through the mid-lengths and ends, a styling wax spray or a soft pomade is the best option,” he adds as a final note. “For even more hold, a texture spray can be a good choice. This works well on straight, wavy, or slightly curly hair, but tighter textures will need to be prestretched and smoothed to get the same silhouette.”
