When it comes to franchises that have shaped our childhoods and defined what an adventure should feel like, The Legend of Zelda sits comfortably at the very top of the mountain for many players (including myself).
And precisely because of that, we all know that we have a serious soft spot for any collectible from Nintendo's franchise – and I say this as I write this article with a Breath of the Wild Zelda figure sitting on my desk and a Majora’s Mask hanging on my wall.
Now, it looks like Link is getting ready to hit our wallets with some major spin attacks to gather our hard-earned Rupees, because one of the biggest merchandising partnerships the franchise has ever seen has just been officially announced.
Bringing Hyrule to Life in Six Inches
Nintendo has officially joined forces with toy giant Hasbro in a multi-year licensing partnership to bring The Legend of Zelda to toy aisles and collector shelves worldwide. The news was shared this Thursday, and the newly announced collaboration is set to officially kick off in 2027.
Luckily for us eager fans, we won't have to wait nearly that long to get our very first peek at what they are cooking up, since Hasbro has already confirmed that they will be revealing three 6-inch scale figures at San Diego Comic-Con, meaning we'll see them during the weekend of July 23 to July 26, 2026.
While the announcement is keeping the identity of those first three figures closely guarded under wraps for now, the potential here is quite massive, and I can’t help but imagine what those first reveals will look like. I mean, will we get a classic, nostalgically green-tunicked Link? A modern, wild-haired version from the latest open-world titles? Or perhaps the intimidating, towering presence of Ganondorf himself?
Whatever they look like, I’m down for any of them, as the scale is perfect for collectors. Six-inch figures are widely considered the gold standard for action figures, offering the perfect balance of shelf-friendly size and intricate detail.
Nintendo has officially joined forces with toy giant Hasbro in a multi-year licensing partnership to bring The Legend of Zelda to toy aisles and collector shelves worldwide.
According to Hasbro, the goal is to merge Nintendo’s legendary storytelling with their own expertise in action and role-play, delivering toys that invite older fans to display them proudly and younger fans to forge their way into this amazing saga. And given the pedigree of Hasbro's lines like Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series, we can definitely expect some seriously high-quality sculpts!
“For decades, The Legend of Zelda franchise has captivated fans through its deep lore, unforgettable characters and enduring sense of discovery,” said Billy Lagor, the current president of Toys and Board Games at Hasbro. “By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures.”
Of course, this partnership doesn't actually come out of nowhere, especially since it seems Nintendo has finally remembered that it's the franchise's 40th anniversary! With the highly anticipated live-action The Legend of Zelda movie currently scheduled to hit theaters next year, and the Ocarina of Time remake set to release in the holiday season of 2026, we all know that Zelda fans are being incredibly well-fed (and honestly, it's about time!). Now, I just need to figure out how many Rupees I can scrape together so I don't miss out on these amazing treasures coming from Hyrule.
