The costs of Trump’s resurgent Iran war are rising fast

For 11 consecutive days, the U.S. has conducted major air strikes against Iran, while Iran has carried out drone and ballistic missile attacks on U.S. forces and allied targets across the region. The rapid return to war follows the collapse of a shaky cease-fire between the two countries. And though negotiations appear to be continuing at least in some form, there does not seem to have been any progress back toward peace. On Tuesday, Donald Trump vowed to bomb Iran’s underground military facility at Pickaxe Mountain, where Israel reportedly told the U.S. Iran had moved some of its nuclear centrifuges.
